We recorded 4 shows at the outside stage at the Stone Pony, it was a homecoming for me ... I grew up in Asbury Park! Towards the end of the last set of the last show, Clarence came up to me (while we were playing) and said "There's a situation, we have to tell the people to evacuate "... there was a bomb threat, the crowd calmly filed out, the venue was swept, they came back and we finished the set... we all knew it had to be a hoax. That was 10 days before 9/11... another world. |

LIVE IN ASBURY PARK Vol. II
Bruce Springsteen joined us for a long set on the first of two nights. The E Street Band hadn't been touring, Bruce & Clarence hadn't seen each other, much less played together for a while. Talk about a force of nature, the crowd, the band, it wouldn't have surprised me if all the cars in Asbury Park were pointed at Bruce that night. Really inspired version of Raise Your Hand... those last choruses were sung jumping up & down for a really long long time. The man was in shape... check out the coda... it's worth the price of admission.
